"Eixample" means Extension. This district exists since 1860, after the demolition of the medieval ramparts. Today it is a vast commercial and residential district. The location and size of the apt were excellent very safe bldg, and area. However the apt. could use some cleaning and serious repairs. The frigo never worked and was not fixed 5 days. The freezer worked and we camped with frozen bottles of water. The bathrooms could use removal of black mildew. We were 2 couples and size was perfect,we all agreed about the cleaning and lack of frigidaire.The hole in shower door and good painting would be a plus. I would not rent or recommend this apt to friends for such reasons. If it was assured it was put up to par and frigo fixed that would be different. The outside patio was a plus and the location very easy for buses train and taxis. The contact person was prompt for pick up of the keys,however never fixed problem with frigidaire, and never showed up for checkout. We left keys on the table.
