"Eixample" means Extension. This district exists since 1860, after the demolition of the medieval ramparts. Today it is a vast commercial and residential district. We were very happy with the accommodations. The location worked out well. The door lock was tricky but we figured it out and it wasn't on what we cosidered the 4th floor but we figured that out too. One of the beds was missing a sheet and a pillow was missing a pillow case but the cleaning person was rushed. We would stay there again if we were ever to visit Barcelona again. I hope I do.
