The Sagrada Familia is known as Gaudí´s most famous monument and Barcelona’s landmark. Although construction works already begun in 1883, only a minor part of the plans were be able to fulfill till the death of Gaudí in 1926 (he was run over by a Tram on the Gran Vía and died in hospital two days later). Construction works started again in 1956 after the civil war and until today two facades and eight towers have been completed. The main nave was roofed in 2000. Currently construction is mainly focusing on the nave and the main southern facade known as the Glory Facade.

Antoni Gaudí designed this 20 ha wide garden complex for Lord Güell- one of his friends and patron. The construction works lasted from 1900 to 1914. This was Gaudí´s most ambitious project after the Sagrada Família, commissioned as a private housing estate of sixty dwellings and furnished with paths, recreational areas and decorative monuments. In the end, only two houses were actually built, and the park was opened to the public instead in 1922.
