White Night at PortAventura

If you’ve always wanted to go to PortAventura but never had the opportunity, then don’t miss this special occasion! On May 18th 2013 the park will be open from 10pm tp 4am and many entertainments and shows will be performed for you. You will enjoy more than 50 performances (Aloha Tahiti, Roxy’s Saloon, Nights of Fire in Tahiti, Fly with SésamoAventura, Bang Bang West, Sésamo Parade, etc.) the White Night pyro-musical as well as new shows especially created for the date (Charanga travelling, DJ music session, etc.).

What is PortAventura Park?

The best way to make your children smiling!
Port Aventura Park is a theme park with shops, roller coasters, merry-go-rounds, etc. divided in several areas: Mediterrània, Polynesia, China, Mexico, Far West and Sésamo Aventura.
Mediterrània is the first area you will find right after the entrance, decorated in an old fashion Mediterranean village style where you can see the Sésamo Parade and buy yourself souvenirs.
Polynesia, as the name points out, is the area of the paradisiacal landscapes and the famous dance Aloha Tahiti.
China is the land of dragons where you can eat their famous Chinese food.
Mexico’s area is decorated with a lot of vegetation, Maya ruin where you will discover the Mexican culture!
In an American Style, the Far West area takes you on a journey through time in the middle of the Bang Bang West Show.
Sésamo Aventura is the children area with a special guest: the famous Sésamo. You can see him in his show Vuela con SésamoAventura. In PortAventura, little ones as well as grown-ups will discover an amazing place to have fun and enjoy their time.

White Night Practical Information

The entire PortAventura Park will be open during the White Night excepted for the Low China area and the steam trains and boats of the lake. Buffet restaurants will be opened until 1:30am and the Vinosfera restaurant until 2:30 am. Children under 16 years have to be accompanied by a parent or a guardian.

Opening Hours

PortAventura is opened from the March 22nd to November 3^rd. The park can also occasionally opened during the year, for special events.
The Aquatic Park is opened from May 18^th to September 29^th.

How to get there?

By train: From Barcelona, you can take the train at Sants Estacio for around 16€ round trip. To check the timetable, you can go directly on RENFE
By car: Take the motor way exit number 35 on the AP-7. There is enough space to park your car on the parking. Car park prices:

• 8.50€ for one car
• 12€ for one car in the preferential zone
• 10€ for campervans and trucks
• 3.50€ for motorcycles

Where to stay?

If you don’t want to take the train at 4 in the morning or drive your car in the middle of the night, you can directly book your accommodation with BarcelonaPoint near the park in Salou, just contact us and we will help you book your hotel or apartment in Salou.

• Horror en el Lago (Horror at the Lake)

What kind of monster does Mediterrània’s lake shelter? What creatures hide behind the columns of fire?

Horror en el Lago is a show full of suprises and great special effects: fireworks, jet-ski acrobatics, fountain effects, pyrotechnics, video projections… not to mention the lugubrious music. This sure is a special Halloween show.

• Halloween Parade

At the end of each day, meet with the Halloween Parade. The whole Halloween people gather in a long procession and invade Mediterrània’s streets.

Dances and choreographies, carriages and fearsome characters are here to make sure you don’t forget your day in the resort. This finish will please the younger and elder ones and remind you all you saw during your stay in PortAventura.

• La Selva del Miedo – The forest of fear

• Bubblebou

Bubblebou is especially thought for children. You’ve probably loved doing bubbles as a kid. That Bubble show will ravish your smaller ones!

It takes place in the Temple Màgic of PortAventura, but only on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays! (See below the timetables)

• Mystery: Resurrection

The story of a group of teenagers who, during a trip, find an old conservatory that dates back to the 1800s. According to the words of the very artistic director of PortAventura’s shows, Gianfranco Bollini, “this show cannot be explained… it has to be experienced… Surprise‼”. Featuring: one of the best acrobatic stilt walkers in the world, Mongolian acrobatic Team (winners of many competitions in Asia) and many others…

Definitely one of the most appreciated shows, but nothing better than a video to have an insight into it: Mystery Resurrection 2012!

• 2012: Ritual Maya

Traditional dances and movements of México, fabulous music and impressive acrobats… a show inspired by Maya’s traditions and rituals.

Enjoy a meal in La Cantina as you’re watching the show and perhaps take part in it yourself!

• Templo del Fuego – La maldición Maya

Height restriction: 1.40m or 1m with an adult

Who hasn’t heard of the End of the World predicted by the Mayan calendar? According to their prophecy, our world will end in December this year. Whether this is reality or fiction, many people have formed a great interest into this. PortAventura decided to create a show out of this prophecy and to surprise you with a great new show.

• Love for Vampires

Fans always look forward to the season of Halloween in PortAventura, and Love for Vampires has a lot to do with it. The show has been going on for several years and been raising the same success each time. How? Salou’s amusement park knows how to reinvent itself and its shows.

Beautiful costumes, dance moves, light effects… A real pleasure for the eyes!

• Horror en Penitence

In the gloomy maze of Penitence town, Zombies, Living Dead and Vampires raise… You’ll need to be fully alert while you wander around the cemetery and surroundings.  The village opens its door from 1pm to 5pm (5:30pm on weekends), will you dare enter it?

SésamoAventura

• Halloween en SésamoAventura

This is the new show in PortAventura’s kid area, featuring all the characters of the neighborhood to make sure young children are spoiled too!

• ¡Es la hora de la aventura! – It’s time for Adventure!

Dances, Songs and games are expecting your kids in the minidisco!

And there’s even more, since all the street animations have been renewed and some surprises are prepared for you in the streets of PortAventura, everywhere in the amusement park, starting from the parking lot and entrance on weekends!

On October 31^st, Halloween’s night, the park closes at 2am!

What is so great about Halloween in PortAventura?

Why are the park’s fans always talking so much about it months in advance, trying to find out what shows will be on, what will be new and promotional videos before anyone?

Every year, the park goes all out for this special season: all the landscapes and surroundings are decorated to fill the atmosphere with Halloween’s spirit, special shows are set up and frightening and dark passageways are created to make sure you keep a strong impression of your experience of Halloween!

Is it really frightening?

If you are wondering if this is as most Halloween events and dedicated to families with young children only… Well let me tell you that it’s not! Or at least not only.

The most gentle Halloween features you’ll find to amuse your kids without actually giving them nightmares usually are the shows, parades, street animations, etc. Of course, some shows are scarier than others, I’ll tell you a little more about this below.

If you are older and looking for a good fright, then you’ll love the passageways. They are called “Pasajes del Terror”, you easily get what it means…

2012 Shows at PortAventura

• NEW! Mystery Resurrection: Ballerinas and acrobats will interpret this beautiful show, telling you a story in a poetic and yet gloomy atmosphere. Ever tried to summon the souls of the afterlife? Well, be prepared for this…
• NEW! Bandarra Street Orkestra: 18 musicians forming a traveling orchestra will play music along the streets, to comfort and encourage you as you’re passing by. Were they inspired by the quatuor who played until death came on the Titanic?
• NEW! SésamoAventura especial Halloween: For all the family. You’ll discover Sesamo neighborhood’s characters anew, as they will dance each one of them in their very personal way. Another insight into their personality for the fans!
• NEW! Templo del Fuego: La maldición maya: (The Fire Temple: The Mayan curse) This one raises quite a lot of expectations. Inspired by the Mayan prophecies for 2012, it should be quite impressive and is maintaining its mystery.

• Love for Vampires: A vampire show. In the Saloon, a vampire hunter comes with his assistant to the old Penitence castle to look for the master of darkness, Alexei, and his maidens.
• Bang Bang Halloween: Penitence has become bloodshed and attracted all vampires of the region, including the very Dracula himself! A small group of soldiers and a vampire apprentice defend the castle in the funniest stunt show!
• La Muerte Viva: (the living dead) A very emotional and beautiful musical and dancing show that will make you shiver.
• Halloween Parade: this is a Parade that takes place at the end of every day and in which participate picturesque old vehicles as a horse-drawn hearse, a cute pumpkin, a large skeleton riding a bicycle and a large demon. There also always are characters from scary movies or animated movies such as Family Adams or Frankeinstein!
• Noche de Halloween: the famous Halloween night. This is an amazing and breathtaking show that takes place on the sea, with light and music effects that give it a real magical aspect. Last year’s video is definitely worth a watch.

2012 Passageways for Halloween

• NEW! La maldicion del fuego: For the first time in 6 years, PortAventura has announced a new frightening passageway for Halloween 2012. It will be called “La maldicion del Fuego” (The fire curse) and take place at the entrance of the Templo del Fuego (Temple of Fire) in the Mexico area. The main story that will guide your steps in there is a Mayan curse thrown against explorers in search of hidden treasures in the pyramid.
• Horror en Penitence: a ghoulish and inhospitable labyrinth in which you’ll try to run away from the scariest sheriffs… but will you find your way in the interplay of light and shade in this dark gloomy atmosphere?
• Selva del Miedo: (the Forest of Fear) the video is a promotion of this passage. It is in Polynesia area and is said to host about 50 beings and monsters that coexist with the fog and darkness.

Okay so now that you’re all set, don’t miss out on this really good fun event. Did you know it’s the 13th year they celebrate Halloween in Port Aventura? Quite a symbolic number… the park announced a very special edition, let’s see!

Whether you go there for one day or you booked an hotel in  PortAventura, you can enjoy the famous attractions of the park. But  what if I tell you that now, you can spend A WEEK in PortAventura?  Yes, you read well, an entire week of fun in one of the best amusement  park of Europe!

Shambhala Ride, Expedition to the Himalayas

The famous PortAventura Park is expanding. The spring of 2012 will bring a new and spectacular attraction in the China area of PortAventura, one that will change the face of European amusement parks forever: the Shambhala roller coaster.

PortAventura has always been known as a family park, where visitors could enjoy the 6 different worlds according to their needs, eat great food at the customized restaurants, and happily come back to the beautiful hotels inside the park.

The symbol of PortAventura till 2012 has been Dragon Kahn since the opening of the park, located in China, this giant roller coaster is one of the fastest in the world. And now PortAventura 2012 is going to become even more legendary. The great new attraction Shambhala (Expedition to the Himalayas), is said to be the tallest one ever constructed in Europe (76 m) and will have the longest descent in Europe (78 m). Saving energy too, almost no electricity will be used, as most of the ride will follow the inertia from the first descent. Most importantly, it will be the fastest European roller coaster, reaching 134 km/h.

The construction began in October 2011, and should be ready for opening in April 2012; the landscape of PortAventura 2012 will change for good… Do not miss this new adventure, a real challenge for anyone who is willing to accept it!

The New Driving School

In the ancient Mongol camp of China stands the funny Driving School, one of the most amusing and spectacular games for children in PortAventura 2012.

This year 2 different Halloween celebrations will be held in the park. While at Far West and México you will find the “scary” area, plenty of ravens, skeletons and dreadful spider’s webs…
On the other hand at Mediterrània and SésamoAventura there is the funniest and kindest one, just ideal for families with little children. More than 12.000 pumpkins will decorate the park, beside huge sunflowers and corn to represent this original Celtic tradition.

The Halloween in PortAventura’ highlights will be as every year the decorations and special shows.

Performances and popular characters in the Streets

All the traditional PortAventura characters will receive you on a terror boat, as a special welcome for Halloween! Besides, on the park’ train, you will have the chance to interact with the vampires, zombies and all kind of monsters there celebrating the occasion…
The famous Woody, Winnie or Betty Boop will be disguised; and actors on high stilts stumbling around.

“Woody on Tour”, “Parada de los Monstruos” and “High School Monsters” among others are waiting for you!

All Shows for Halloween in PortAventura 2011

There will be many new shows, which are:

• “Mystery 2” – it is a gothic story, an incredible show of acrobatics, contortionism, terror and music. More than 33 acrobats and dancers will perform it at the Gran Teatro Imperial of China.
• “Bang Bang Halloween” – a group of soldiers and vampire novices will defend the blood bank of Penitences, the funniest stunt show of Halloween in PortAventura!
• “Love for Vampires” – a scary and beautiful love story.
• “Noche de Halloween” – or Halloween Night, awesome show full of light effects and fireworks, at the Gran Lago in Mediterrania, the Large Lake, with a skeleton as a main character trying to protect the lake from death.

• “La Selva del Miedo” – where more than 50 actors will be waiting for scaring you in the largest terror open air passage in Europe!
• “Horror in Penitence” – to live chilling situations at Penitence Jail.
• “La Muerte Viva” – The Alive Death, it’s a very enjoyable music hall in La Cantina Mariachi.
• “La Mina del Diablo” – a dreadful abandoned mine in Mexico.
• “La Casa de la Bruja” – The Witch’s House, a remake of Halloween in the BlackSmith labyrinth taking place at the Far West.
• “Baby Dance Halloween” – with Blas, Coco, Epi and Triki plus friends. Just ideal to have fun with kids in SesamoAventura area.

PortAventura Aquatic Park is located just next to the main park, only 5 minutes drive from the resort of Salou which is on the coast. It is open only during the summer season, saying between the 28^th of May and 11^th of September 2011.

La Laguna De Woody (Woody’s Lagoon)

This is a supervised area with a climbing frame and small kiddy sized slides.

Zona Indoor

This is in the indoor area to enjoy even in October, as this indoor area stays open after the outdoor rides have closed. The indoor zone also has slides for children.

Barracudas

Live an adventurous float ride through the Barracudas, either alone or with a partner.

El Gran Caribe (The Great Caribe)

This is an indoor area with a big flume and heated swimming pool. The flume is enclosed and so you plummet for what seems like an eternity until it spits you out the end into the pool. Meanwhile your stomach remains at the top!

El Triangulo De Las Bermudas (The Bermuda Triangle)

It is an enormous outdoor pool that is very relaxing to swim. This ride is divided in several zones with waves of different intensity; both grownups and kids can enjoy themselves in the waves.

Bahama Beach

A sunbath area with Bermuda sounds in the background which make you believe you were there.

The Mambo and Limbo

A slide opened to the air, which makes you feel like flying in the air while you are sliding.

El Tifón

This slide starts in the indoor area of PortAventura Aquatic Park. It’s closed in so you can’t see where you’re going. The intensity is strong, because it makes you twist and turn!

El Rio Loco ( The Crazy River)

If you want to relax, just grab your float around this river. It winds its way round the whole park with its own current to take you. So you don’t have to swim – just relax and enjoy the ride through PortAventura Aquatic Park.

El Torrente (The Torrent)

This ride has its own rings that seat up to 4 people.

The possibility to stay in one of the hotels in PortAventura, the tickets are then all inclusive!

Stay outside the park to discover the beautiful town of Salou on the Costa Dorada, buy a package ticket + accommodation with BarcelonaPoint.

However, if you book your tickets and/ or accommodation you will be off great advantage, it will be cheaper and comfortable.

How to get to PortAventura & PortAventura Aquatic Park?

It’s located just over an hour from Barcelona and only 15 minutes from Reus Airport, with its own train station it will allow you to get to PortAventura without wasting much time. A bus service is additionally offered.

With RENFE you are offered service from Barcelona. From Salou, PortAventura is only 5 km, from there buses drive frequently from the city centre every 15 to 20 minutes.

By car PortAventura is easy accessible via the Motorway AP-7 or Autopista del Mediterráneo (E-15 European Route) exit 35.

Attractions in SesamoAventura

You will find 11 brand new attractions in SesamoAventura.

In the 6^th theme area Sesamo Aventura you will be able to explore the Elmo’s Farm with many animals, to go in and find out what kinds of animals exist there. There is a new roller coaster called Tami- Tami which gives you an adrenaline kick! Another attraction is dedicated to children and adults who love the Free Falling “El Salto del Blas”, there you can decide yourself how high you go and then drop! With this new attraction, you are further able to fly over the park by plane with the “CocoPiloto” and watch the range of attractions in SesamoAventura.

And much more: “Mariposas Saltarinas” (Jumping Butterflies), “Magic Fish”, “El árbol Mágico” (Magic Tree), SésamoAventura Station, “El Huerto Encantado” (Enchanted Orchard), “Waikiki” and “Loco – Loco Tiki”.

If you are enjoying your time in the other areas of PortAventura and you want to visit the new one but feel tired to walking, then take the Locomotive from” La Mediterrania” or “Far West” ! Then children can enjoy their time at the big playground and take a few slides or jump on Loco Tiki, making you feel like being on a cloud which goes up and down.

Shows

Besides the numerous attractions SesamoAventura further offers diverse showcases for the whole family. Earnie, Bert, Cookie Monster, Grover, Zoe and Elmo have prepared shows to show on stage including songs and dances the children can performance along. The location for the shows is the TeatroAventura. And in case you feel hungry after all the adventurous attractions, SesamoAventura is also served by a restaurant.

PortAventura is only 3 to 5 km away and there are buses connecting from Salou center every 15 to 20 minutes.

How to get to SesamoAventura:

Sesamo Aventura is a part of PortAventura that is located in Salou, in the province of Tarragona, Costa Dorada. It is only 15 km to the Reus International Airport.

PortAventura is just one hour from Barcelona:

By train: the park is close to the Renfe train station.

By car: there is a direct turn off from the highway A-7.

PortAventura opens the 2011 season on friday april 8th and it is actually a prime destination for fun searchers, filled with shops, restaurants, rides, attractions, and live shows. In summer months, the white sandy beaches and turquoise waters are equally as popular to cool off in as the PortAventura Aquatic Park with its water thrill rides, kiddie pools, and more.
