Barcelona Parks and Gardens

Barcelona has plenty of beautiful parks and gardens where you can relax after a tiring day of visiting or working, play, run, ride your bike or chill out enjoying the fresh air of green areas.

 


Parc de la Ciutadella

 

The Parc de la Ciutadella contains a large diversity of features which make it especially valuable and makes it one of the meeting points for Barcelonans on their free time. Another point to add is that Barcelona Zoo and the Parliament of Catalunya stands in the grounds of the Park.

Parc del Castell de l'Oreneta

This park is immersed in nature. If you want to relax outside the city you will venture into this park alone or with your family. You will discover a wide range of vegetation.

Parc Güell
                      

This famous park is one of the symbols of Barcelona. Gaudí’s fabulous park where you can discover a thousand shapes and colors, a magnificent blend of architecture and nature.

Parc del Laberint 

 

This park is an example of the neoclassical gardens of the 18th century, with Italian touch. Its name comes from the labyrinth of cypress bushes that is located at the lower part of the park.

Jardí de Costa i Llobera

 

One of the world's most important exotic gardens.

Parc del Guinardó


This Park mix forest and garden,where water plays a dominant role to be relax.

La Carretera de les Aigües

 

The start of the route is approximately 1km from Avinguda del Tibidabo. In this garden you can relax and play sports with your friends.

 

Address: Eight-kilometer path on Tibidabo hill, ideal for walking or cycling. There are drinking fountains along the route.

Getting there: Tramvia Blau (Blue Tramway)

 

Activities and Services: Picnic area, Pétanque courts, Fronton, Children's play area, Fountain.

 

Parc de Collserola

 

This is Barcelona’s biggest park and is located on the Collserola ridge. You can ride bicycles, have a picnic, etc.

Getting there: FFCC de la Generalitat (Catalan railways), Baixador de Vallvidrera (Funicular).

Open daily from 9.30am-3pm except Christmas, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and 6th January.

 

Activities and Services: nature walks for schools and general public, exhibitions, audiovisuals, shop, bar, WC, public telephone.



Parc del Clot

This park combines nature and industry to provide a pleasant space.

Parc Cervantes Roses


The Roserar de Cervantes (named after the prominent author of 'Don Quijote') this park offers a delightful exposition of colors and aromas. In this park you can find a collection of roses,
there are 235 varieties with a delicious perfume.

Parc de la Creueta del Coll


This park is surrounded by a lake that in summer becomes a swimming pool of 6.000m2. It’s a nice place to rest at the shade of acacia trees.

Parc Larbibal


The gardens of the park were made by Jean Claude Nicolas Forestier and Nicolau Rubio Tuduri for the Universal Exhibition of Barcelona in 1929. The gardens are really Mediterranean and surrounded by water. Near the park you can find an ancient Theatre.

Activities and Services: Bar and toilets, Park warden, Ethnological Museum, Restaurant, Fundació Joan Miró. Open during the International Scenic Arts Grec Festival.



Parc Sant Marti:

 

If you liked the decoration made by Jean Claude Nicolas Forestier and Nicolau Rubio Tuduri in Parc Larbibal, you'll love this quiet park also hosting several activities.

Palau de les Heures Gardens:

 

Those gardens are a beautiful with precious vegetation and surround the  Palau de les Heures an imposing building of the end of the nineteenth century with four round towers crowned by cone-shaped roofs, following the style of the French châteaux.

Universitat Gardens

 

In 1784, a botanical garden connected to the Royal College of Surgery was created, with the aim of facilitating the teaching of Botany. The garden of the old convent was transformed into a botanical garden and destined to the teaching of Science and Pharmacy. You can visit it and discover the different species of plants.
