Barcelona is the city of Modern Art. There are a lot of places to discover, enjoy and even buy modern art!
You’ll find it not only in Museums but also in Art Galleries, Art Centres, Private Foundations, etc. Art is everywhere!
In most of those centres the entrance is free, so there are no excuses for not having a look on the ones we propose you.

6. Galeria ADN
ADN (DNA in English) favours less-established contemporary artists, half of whom are locally based.
ADN support the worthy social projects of young architect Sergio Cirugeda who creates ingenious foldable homes that clamp to buildings or nestle in trees.

8. Galeria Estrany. De La Mota
This cavernous basement is one of the most intriguing art spaces in the city: outstanding contemporary exhibitions, particularly in photography and film of artist like Esko Männikkö and Douglas Gordon.
9. Galeria H2O
Local architect Joaquim Ruiz Millet and writer Ana Planella founded this friendly Gràcia gallery in 1989.
Design and photography shows and book publications feature on the agenda.

10. Galeria Joan Gaspar

11. Garleria Maeght

12. Galeria Nogueras Blanchard
Àlex Nogueras and Rebecca Blanchard have proven themselves adept at talent-spotting.
Artists Marine Hugonnier and Ignacio Uriarte regularly feature, Cuban artist Wilfredo Prieto is their main artist having won the Cartier Award in 2008.

15. Iguapop Gallery
Iguapop is the antithesis of the snooty art gallery that calls itself commercial but shuns the label shop.
A nice 200sq-m space and a liberal exhibitions policy, featuring many artists with something interesting to say, a refreshing visit.
