BICING

The Bicing is a public transport method based on the bike “hiring”, really popular in Barcelona where the good weather permits its use all year long.
The concept is to use the bicycle as the common transport, not for doing big routes but to move around the city, to get from one point to another, etc. That’s the reason why there are Bicing points all around Barcelona, take a bike when you need it and leave it in your destination for somebody else’s use.
To use it you have to subscribe through the web by an annual quote of 30€. The first half hour of use is free, after this first half hour a charge of 0,50€ will be applied for every 30minutes. After 2 hours there’s a penalization of 3€/hour.

TAXI

Barcelona’s taxis are black and yellow, if they are available you will see a green light on top of the car and a sign on the windscreen.

However, the best way to discover Barcelona is on foot. The distances are not very long.
For example it takes only half an hour to walk from Plaça Catalunya to the district of Gràcia. The Barrio Gotico or La Ribera have many pedestrian areas which makes the driver’s access impossible.

However, take care when crossing a road. Cars don’t pay attention to crosswalks and sometimes not even to traffic lights.

Prices:

Minimum standard fee:   2.00€

Per kilometer:                  1.10€

To or from the airport:   extra charge of 3.10€ + 1.00€ per suitcase
