Barcelona really comes alive after dark. Nearly all the districts in Barcelona have a very active nightlife.

To truly savour the great nightlife of Barcelona you have to surrender to la fiesta which word describes the Spanish tendency toward intense socializing and partying, packing in every experience possible before the sun breaks the horizon. The night life action starts around 11pm at the earliest. On Saturday nights it’s quite normal to see hundreds of people strolling up and down the Ramblas until 3am. The main districts where the clubs are situated are the Barri Gotico, Exiample and Puerto Olimpico. On Thursday nights the scene starts to heat up but the main concentration of clubbers hit Barcelona on Friday and Saturday nights. Clubs begin to die down at around 4.30 am and close their doors at 5.30 am just in time for the first metro to go and have a traditional Chocolate con Churros Breakfast.

The Poble Espanyol (Spanish Village) on Montjuïc provides a striking background for one of the most unique night spots. In the area of Avd. del Tibidabo, at the end of the Tramvia Blau (Blue tram), there are music and dance spots which offer a more layed-back atmosphere and are popular in the summer.
